The Hotel Hochschober lies directly on a lake nearly 1,800 meters above sea level, surrounded by the gently rolling Nockberg Mountains. Since the mid-1930s, the family-run hotel has been rebuilt and expanded in various styles, some more successful than others. Mirror Interior was commissioned to refurbish a number of the hotel’s interiors as part of a medium-term refurbishment plan.

The redesign of the public areas took into account the hotel’s original 1930s version of “Heimatstil” architecture and the modern alpine style of the lobby, designed in 1965 by South Tyrolean architect Andersag. The outstanding features and design elements were retained and updated with contemporary forms, colors, fabrics and lighting. In keeping with the alpine setting, wood, wrought iron and stone predominate. Mirror Interior designed exclusive patterns for the wool and loden textiles used. Adding to the sophisticated ambience are works by well-known artists such as Herbert Brandl and Barbara Eichhorn, some of which were specially commissioned for the hotel.
